Principal Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to our McCormick Elementary School and Family. I have served as the Principal of McCormick since 2007, when we opened our campus doors. Serving over 220 students in grades K-4, our school is dedicated to educating every individual in a respectful, safe, and enriching environment through comprehensive programs that inspire excellence, lifelong learning, and responsibility.

My professional background has been within the Moon Area School District, currently entering my 20th year as an educational administrator. Before my arrival to elementary education, I served as the Principal at Moon Area Middle School (2002-2007); and prior to this position, I was served as an Assistant High School Principal (2000-2002). I have also served in the capacity of additional administrative roles, such as Title 1 Director, Public Relations Coordinator, and Instructional Induction Coordinator. Additionally, I have a daughter who attends MAHS who enjoys the opportunities offered by our school district.

McCormick is fortunate to benefit from a strong partnership with its families and surrounding community. We have a professional staff who loves to teach, students who are eager to learn, and parents who are involved, supportive, and value our educational program. I believe in building health relationships with everyone on our team.

McCormick Elementary has been recognized annually for its outstanding academic performance. Additionally, we are continuously working on anti-bullying initiatives with our school-wide positive behavior programs. McCormick students have a sense of Tiger Pride because our “Exemplary High Performing” school has the state’s highest high attendance rates and the highest achieving students (the top 15%) in English and mathematics, measured by state assessments.

On behalf of our students, staff, parents, and community, we welcome you to McCormick Elementary School.

Sincerely,

Dr. Julie Moore
